Life Insurance after a Kidney Transplant

Overview

It not always possible to obtain Life Insurance from mainstream insurers after a Kidney Transplant.

If you have been declined cover after  a Kidney Transplant, Pulse may be able to help.

Each case is individually reviewed and rated by an expert underwriter and a s a consequence of this bespoke handling, there is a minimum sum insured of £25,000.

There will be a period of up to 12 months after the Kidney transplant operation when cover will not be available.

After this period, cover may be available based on some key facts about your kidney transplant:

  • Reason(s) for a transplant
  • Any indications of rejection
  • Results of recent tests (e.g. GFR and Creatinine)
  • Any other conditions or complications
  • Your age and overall health

 

If you have other medical conditions which may present a significant impact on your longevity, then this will also impact cover availability and cost.

Medical Reports

If you have any recent or relevant medical reports, these can enable underwriters to provide a more accurate indication.

n.b. Do not worry if you don’t have any medical reports as they are not usually needed to give an indication of cover / cost.

It may be necessary anyway for separate specific medical reports to be sought if you decide to proceed with an application.
