It is not usually difficult to obtain life insurance cover that does not exclude archery / shooting sports from mainstream insurers.

The risks of accidental shooting see many participants taking out activity-related insurance for liability and other reasons and this often includes personal accident cover for death at a relatively low level such as £10-20,000. 

However, not everyone takes out cover or if there is an accident and someone is shot; the person’s family may not find it easy or practical to pursue financial compensation through the courts.
