World COPD Day – November 21st 2020

November 21st 2020 is World COPD Awareness Day.

COPD, or to give it its full name, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is a condition that makes breathing difficult. Surprisingly there are many people in the UK who have the condition without knowing it. The Awareness Day is designed to “increase awareness and help people get the treatment and support they deserve”. This is important because when untreated the condition may progress quickly and in any event it will, untreated, lower the quality of life.

Pulse is a specialist insurer, providing Life Assurance in cases where the standard market has declined or postponed cover. We continue to provide Life Assurance in a wide range of cases, including COPD and our cover can include Covid.

This is remarkable, bearing in mind that COPD is a respiratory condition. But in order to consider offering terms we need to see good control, with pulmonary function at an acceptable level and no recent hospital in patient treatments. Current smoking is an immediate decline.

We cannot provide cover in every case that comes our way but we always do our very best to help.

Below are two COPD cases currently on risk with Pulse;

Male, aged 55, Heart Attack and COPD

Sum Assured £100,00

Term 11 years

Premium £59.26 pcm

Male, aged 52, Heart Condition and COPD
