We have applied these skills to providing our U.K. corporate clients with Group Life cover. By way of example, we were successful in providing Group cover for the medical teams and ancillary staff visiting Sierra Leone during the Ebola crisis.

More recently we have responded to the Covid-19 pandemic. We have provided a Group of teachers with terms for additional top up, Death in Service benefits in the event of death from Covid-19. This can provide teachers and their families with the comfort of additional financial security and it can provide the employer with the enhanced reputation of looking after staff, in these challenging times, to the best of their ability.

Sometimes we are asked to provide solutions to U.K. Corporate clients whose work force is multi-national. So, we have provided Group Life cover for an International client, in the oil and gas industry, whose work force includes nationalities from America, Africa and the UAE.

And sometimes we are asked to provide cover for groups working in hazardous locations whose work is in itself high risk. We have recently quoted for one such group whose work includes training personnel in the handling of explosives.

In some cases, the nature and or location of work may mean that we cannot offer Death All Causes Life cover but what we can and will do in such cases is to provide a dual cover. The first element will respond to a claim for death from Natural Causes only. A second policy will provide Personal Accident cover, and this can be extended to include loss of limb, permanent disablement, and temporary disablement among other benefits.

We can also help companies who may have an employee who falls outside the company Death in Service scheme. This may be due to that individual’s age or long-term absenteeism or because the individual has been seconded to work overseas or some other reason. Pulse can step in to fill the gap with life insurance for the individual.
