Gift Inter Vivos
Gift Inter Vivos, also sometimes known as Potentially Exempt Transfers (PETs), are frequently linked to life cover. Any significant gift of money, property or other valuable assets will be subject, potentially, to tax if the donor dies within seven years of having made the gift.
Accordingly, Pulse can make available a seven-year term life policy to cover any potential tax that may be generated upon the gift that has been made. The policy can be designed with a declining sum assured that will keep in line with the declining potential tax liability.
A term of less than seven years can be put in place if that is appropriate. This cover will ensure that the recipients of gifts do not have the worry of paying Inheritance Tax if the policyholder dies within seven years of making them.

Keyman Insurance
Keyman insurance protects your business against the financial impact of losing a key worker due to ill health or death.
Life and Critical Illness: We can also provide life cover with critical illness for key men and women only, where the employing company is paying the premium and would benefit in the event of a claim. The life and CIC policy can only be provided for individuals in good health.

Short Term Insurance Cover
Pulse is able to arrange short term insurance cover for businesses and individuals for as short a period as one day. Cover of this length is useful for a variety of purposes, particularly to provide cover for an individual who is 'between jobs' and accordingly temporarily lacking normal Death in Service benefits. It can also be used to provide cover for someone travelling for a short term to a politically unstable country (this is usually provided in conjunction with a personal accident policy that includes war and terrorism), and to provide cover for an individual whose application for normal life cover through the standard market is taking time to put in place due to medical evidence.

Whole of Life
Whole of Life assurance guarantees your estate or beneficiaries a lump sum in the event of you or the last survivor’s death (on joint life applications), whenever that may be. In this way, it differs from term life, which only pays out if you die during the policy term. You can pay by either a single or regular monthly or annual premiums, the amount of which will not change and are payable until death.
Whole of Life is often used in inheritance tax planning. The option of Terminal Illness Cover is also available with Whole of Life.Submit Enquiry Online | Call us on 01280 841430 | Email us
Confidential Life
Pulse Insurance is able to arrange insurance against financial loss as a result of the death of another person. Examples could include a divorcee needing to protect maintenance payments while an agreement is reached through the courts, or a talent agent relying on the income of a celebrity personality.
The existence of the policy must not be disclosed by the Applicant to the Life Assured and the Applicant will be required to sign a declaration to this effect.
The Applicant must be able to demonstrate a financial interest in the Life Assured, such as entitlements arising under a divorce settlement or fees calculated on the earnings of the Life Assured.
Cover is for up to 1 year and because there is no medical underwriting and the life assured does not complete even a basic application form, it is obviously more expensive than normal term life cover.

Specialist HIV Cover
We have a product specifically designed for individuals who are HIV positive, but are not suffering from AIDS. This product, the ‘Harbour’ policy, provides a modest amount of Life cover for Death from Natural Causes Only - up to £25,000 - with a substantial amount of Personal Accident cover, up to £200,000, as well. The advantage of this cover is that it can be obtained without medical evidence and can therefore be put in place quickly.
Download Proposal Form
If you are interested in this type of cover, please download and complete the proposal form and return it to us by post. You may return a scanned or faxed copy in the first instance but we will need the original form in due course. You will find a table of monthly premiums payable on the proposal form. Assuming the case is straightforward and no medical underwriting is required, terms should be available within five working days of receiving the completed form.
Terminal Illness Insurance
Terminal illness insurance can be added to term life cover, whole of life cover and family income benefit. A terminal illness is defined as any medical condition which is expected to cause death within 12 months of the diagnosis. The cover will pay out a single, tax-free lump sum in the event that you or your partner (on joint life applications) are diagnosed with a terminal illness prior to 18 months before the policy’s expiry date.
Other Products
Personal Accident Insurance
Personal Accident insurance pays out a lump sum following accidental death. It is quick and easy to arrange with no medical evidence needed. The policy can be arranged to include war and terrorism, to cover individuals living or working in politically unstable areas. It can also include capital benefits, which will cover injuries such as loss of limb, loss of sight, or an inability to work due to accident.
It is not always possible to obtain life cover for those in non-standard circumstances, for example workers in politically unstable countries, or those who take part in hazardous pursuits. We are able to solve this by arranging a term life policy that covers Death from Natural Causes Only (NCO) for up to 10 years. At the same time we put in place a Personal Accident cover for a 12 month period, which is normally easily renewable each year. This combination offers the same level of cover as normal life insurance, with the exception of suicide. If you are interested in these products, please complete the hazardous country questionnaire to obtain an indicative quotation, or call us for further details.

Income Protection
The income protection cover that we can arrange is designed to provide individuals with pre-existing medical conditions with a regular monthly benefit in the event of them suffering an illness or injury which results in loss of earnings. The benefit is designed to replace those loss of earnings.
This policy is under development and accordingly it is not possible at this stage to give a definitive list of the medical conditions that we can cover, but cases involving back pain, paraplegia, diabetes and heart attacks can be considered.

Income Replacement
Pulse can also arrange an Income Replacement policy for individuals who are either in good health or who have pre-existing medical conditions. This cover is suited to highly paid individuals as the minimum premium is likely to be in the region of £1000.
The cover protects the income of individuals in the event of them being unable to work for a prolonged period of time, due to accident or sickness. It is a specialised product which can be purchased on a key person, group or personal basis. A benefit is paid monthly for a maximum of five years, followed by a lump sum Permanent Total Disablement benefit should the insured be unable to return to work.
We can cover clients who travel with their occupations, including travelling to hazardous countries.
